Entry Regulations

Australia

EU Citizens are permitted to stay in Australia for up to 12 weeks as tourists with a tourist card (which you can get at most travel agencies). Also necessary for entry into Australia is a passport valid at least until your planned departure date, a return ticket or transfer ticket, and sufficient funds for your stay in Australia. For courses with more than 12 weeks, you will need a student visa and health insurance for foreign students (Overseas Student Health Cover OSHC).

Canada

EU Citizens are permitted to stay in Canada for up to 6 months without a visa, and the immigration authorities will make note of the length of your stay upon entering the country. Also requisite are a planned exit, a valid passport, a return or transfer ticket, a valid foreign health insurance and sufficient funds for your stay in Canada.

New Zealand

EU Citizens are permitted to stay in New Zealand as tourists for up to 3 months. Upon entry, they need a passport which is valid for at mininum another 3 months (with a free page for entry and exit stamps), a return or transfer ticket, and sufficient funds for your stay in New Zealand.

South Africa

EU Citizens are permitted to stay in South Africa for up to 3 months without a visa. Upon entry, they need a passport which is valid for at mininum another 3 months (with a free page for entry and exit stamps), a return or transfer ticket, and sufficient funds for your stay in South Africa.

USA

EU Citizens are permitted to stay in the USA as tourists without a visa for up to 90 days. You will receive the form in the airplane ("Non-immigrant Visa Waiver Arrival Form"). Upon entry, they need a machine readable passport which is valid for at least another 3 months, a return or transfer ticket (warning: cannot end in Canada, Mexico, or the Caribbean), valid foreign health insurance, and sufficient funds for your stay in the USA. This is true only for a language course that has a maximum of 18 hours of lessons per week. For intensive courses, you always need a visa. The processing can take up to 8 weeks. Therefore, you should plan and book your language tour early. We are happy to advise you at any time. Exact information can be found at: http://usembassy.state.gov.

Argentina

EU Citizens are permitted to stay in Argentina for up to 3 months as tourists. OK. Upon entry, they need a passport which is valid for at least another 3 months, a return or transfer ticket, and sufficient funds for your stay in Argentina.

Costa Rica

EU Citizens are permitted to stay in Costa Rica for up to 90 days as tourists without visas. Upon entry, they need a passport which is valid for at least another 3 months, a return or transfer ticket, and sufficient funds for your stay in Costa Rica. After a trip abroad for at least 3 days (72 hours), you can travel in Costa Rica for another 90 days.

Chile

EU Citizens are permitted to stay in Chile for up to 90 days as tourists without visas. Upon entry, they need a passport which is valid for at least another 6 months, a return or transfer ticket, and sufficient funds for your stay in Chile.

Ecuador

EU Citizens are permitted to stay in Ecuador for up to 90 days as tourists without visas. The exit date can be extended to 180 days in Ecuador at the Immigration Office for a fee. Upon entry, they need a passport which is valid for at least another 6 months, a return or transfer ticket, and sufficient funds for your stay in Ecuador.

Cuba

EU Citizens are permitted to stay in Cuba for up to 30 days as tourists with a tourist ard (which you can get at every Cuban Consulate). Upon entry, they need a passport which is valid for at least 6 months after the planned exit date, a return or transfer ticket, and sufficient funds for your stay in Cuba.

Mexico

EU Citizens are permitted to stay in Mexico as tourists with a Tourist Card (which you will get from your airline) for up to 90 days. Upon entry, they need a passport which is valid for at least another 6 months, a return or transfer ticket, and sufficient funds for your stay in Mexico.

China

For EU Citizens, a visa to China is required. They may apply for this visa at the Chinese Consulate. Upon entry, they need a passport which is valid for at least 6 months past the planned exit. Russia

For EU Citizens, a visa to Russia is required. Upon entry, they need a passport which is valid for at least 6 months past the planned exit date, a return or transfer ticket, and sufficient funds for your stay in Russia. Also, they must produce verification of valid travelling health insurance.
