Ottawa - Canada

Ottawa is the capital city of Canada. It is situated in the province of Ontario along the Ottawa River. Ottawa has a population of over 1.2 million inhabitants and is home to a large number of technology corporations. Along with many scientists, diplomats and politicians, Ottawa is strongly influenced by its student community. Ottawa has a very high standard of living which was also confirmed in a study. Ottawa has the sixth highest standard of living out of all the cities in the world.
Ottawa does not have a skyline characterised by skyscrapers like many other Canadian cities do. Ottawa’s residential areas have been specially designed to naturally blend in with the beautiful surroundings. The sandstone parliament building is a particularly impressive sight with its many towers. The tallest tower, the Peace Tower, is over 92 metres tall and has 53 bells. Ottawa is also home to most of Canada's museums. There are 21 museums, the most well-known of which is the Canadian Museum of Civilization.
Every year in February, Ottawa celebrates the famous Winterlude festival. This folk festival is a mixture of carnival, winter sports and ice sculpting. Every year this festival attracts visitors from all over.
