Ottawa is the capital city of Canada. It is situated in the province of Ontario along the Ottawa River. Ottawa has a population of over 1.2 million inhabitants and is home to a large number of technology corporations. The sandstone parliament building is a particularly impressive sight with its many towers. The tallest tower, the Peace Tower, is over 92 metres tall and has 53 bells. Ottawa is also home to most of Canada's museums. There are 21 museums, the most well-known of which is the Canadian Museum of Civilization.

Every year in February, Ottawa celebrates the famous Winterlude festival. This folk festival is a mixture of carnival, winter sports and ice sculpting. Every year this festival attracts visitors from all over.
