Whitianga - New Zealand

Our English school in Whitianga is located in a beautiful part of New Zealand. Whitianga is approximately two and a half hours from Auckland on the Coromandel Peninsula. Coromandel is enclosed on one side by the Hauraki Gulf and on the other side by the Pacific Ocean. The stunning sand beaches of Whitianga and Whangamata attract visitors from all over the world, and also many New Zealanders.
Nevertheless, this is not a site of mass tourism, but rather a small tourist town full of small guesthouses and quaint hotels. So if you want to study English in a quiet and peaceful location, but where you can still enjoy plenty of outdoor activities, the English school on Coromandel Peninsula is the perfect choice. Owing to strong winds and good waves, the beaches offer superb surfing conditions. Not only surfers, but also sailors, kayakers, and other water athletes will have a superb time here. With a little luck, while sailing you can even watch dolphins playing in the waves!

Inland there's beautiful, thick green landscape to be discovered, which in large part has been protected as national wildlife parks. The rainforest in Whangamata is especially worth a visit. Another special attraction are the hot springs at Hot Water Beach: at high tide the warm waters mix with the ocean water, and at low tide you can even dig your own spa pool on the beach.
There's more to fascinate the visitors of Coromandel Peninsula than just the wildlife and beaches. There are numerous remains from the gold-digging era of the 19th century to be explored, for example the historic goldmines and their narrow-gauge railways.
So, why not study English at our English school in Whitianga and discover one of the most beautiful parts of New Zealand!
