Rome - Italy

There is no other city that has influence the history of Italy and Europe over the centuries as much as Rome. Although its political influence is much less today than it used to be, the over 900 churches, the Vatican, various memorials, museums, galleries and ancient buildings make Rome into the largest open-air museum of the world. There is no other place in the world where you can discover 3000 years of history as well as you can here.
Despite remnants from ancient Rome, the city is has become a modern metropolis that has a diverse range of cultural delights, such as the opera, concerts, ballet and theatre, to offer its countless visitors and three million inhabitants. During the summer months, especially during the Estate Romana cultural festival, there are countless leisure opportunities to be enjoyed. During the weekend, you can relax at one of the several gorgeous beaches around Rome.

Rome is best discovered on foot. Even if traffic and quality of driving in Rome is better than its reputation, visitors to the city will quickly understand the famous saying "All roads lead to Rome." Cars and Vespas idle, honk and zoom down the streets in lively traffic chaos.
