Buenos Aires - Argentina

Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires, with its fascinating combination of European modernity and South American charm, has developed into a lively metropolis. And the city has its international flair and never-ending nightlife to thank for its status as "Paris of the South."

As the second largest city in South America, Buenos Aires is also one of the oldest cities on the continent. The city was founded by the Spanish in 1535 at the mouth of the Rio de la Plata. But not only the Spanish emigrated to Buenos Aires: Italian, French, and German influences can also be seen here.

Quaint avenues, numerous town squares, green parks, and gorgeous architecture all characterise the cityscape. Among the city's attractions are also its majestic palaces and the famous harbour area "La Boca" with its colourful houses.

Buenos Aires really has much to offer, and if you choose to study Spanish at our Spanish school in Buenos Aires, you can be sure to have an amazing time in this incredible city!

Argentina

undefined

After Brazil, Argentina is the second largest country in South America. The Andes Mountains in the western area of the country form a natural border with Chile. That is where the tallest mountain in South America is located, the Aconcagua with a height of 6,958 metres. To the east is the Atlantic Ocean, in the South are Chile and the Straits of Magellan, and at the mouth of the Rio de la Plata (Silver River) is the capital, Buenos Aires.

Because of its large number of Spanish, Italian and German immigrants, Argentina is South America's most European-influenced country. As a result you can find a multitude of Colonial style buildings in Argentina that are still very well preserved.
