Nerja - Spain

Nerja has a population of 20,000 inhabitants and is a small, picturesque city in Costa del Sol. It lies 55 kilometres east of Málaga and is surrounded by the Sierra Almijara mountain range and over 16 kilometres of beach. The first settlement in Nerja was as long ago as the old stone age or Paleolithic era. Rock paintings and other remnants from this settlement over 30,000 years ago can still be seen in the famous prehistoric stalagmite and stalactite caverns of Nerja (Cuevas de Nerja) - a special highlight and absolute must for all visitors!

The climate is pleasantly warm all year round with over 3,500 hours of sunshine per year. The average temperature in the summer is just under 30° C and over 15° C in the winter, making our Spanish school in Nerja a very attractive choice for a language holiday at all times of the year.

Even today, Nerja has preserved its Andalusian style of architecture and tradition. Each year the inhabitants and visitors to the city celebrate Mardi Gras, Easter and other traditional holidays. The name Nerja, by the way, has developed from the Abarbian "Narixa," which means "abundant spring."

So, why not study Spanish at our Spanish school in Nerja and discover a beautiful part of Spain!
